Under the scope of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) – MIDAS project, implemented as part of the European Union’s Digital Europe Programme and coordinated by İHKİB, another European Digital Innovation Hub, the EDIH WEST MARMARA project, led by the Thrace Development Agency, met in Istanbul for a technical visit.
As part of EDIH WEST MARMARA’s Istanbul technical field-visit program, the İHKİB Digital Transformation Center hosted the consortium team, coordinated by the Thrace Development Agency, at its new building on May 12th.
İHKİB Board Members Jale Tunçel and Mustafa Akçay personally accompanied the field visit. The Digital Transformation Center, which operates framework-wide under the MIDAS Project led by İHKİB, provided its guests with the opportunity to examine on-site model applications aimed at digital infrastructure management, smart manufacturing models, and accelerating the transformation processes of enterprises. The team observed the center’s operations firsthand and discussed potential cooperation opportunities.
The visit was considered a concrete contribution to the ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening the digital transformation capacity of SMEs, particularly in the Textile and Ready-to-Wear sectors operating in the Western Marmara region. It is anticipated that the knowledge acquired and the best practice examples will pave the way for the sustainable development of the region’s technology, innovation, and competitiveness infrastructure.
